I have spent 30 years in enterprise technology: first as an engineer and company founder, then for about 14 years as a Microsoft technology strategist and technical evangelist, and today as the founder of Just In Time AI.
The story so far
- 1987 to 1991
The U.S. Army
U.S. Army veteran, 1987 to 1991. Desert Shield; 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii.
- 1999 to today
Building companies
From 1999 to 2003 I was VP of Information Systems and lead systems architect at Compulan Sales Information Systems. In 2003 I founded Bay State Integrated Technology, a technology consulting and hosting company. I led it as president and CIO until 2008, and I still own it.

Microsoft
Before Microsoft hired me, I was a Microsoft MVP.
For about 14 years I was Microsoft’s Chief Technology Strategist and technical evangelist for the Northeast, and for a decade the face of Microsoft there, setting the customer and community strategy for IT executives and engineers from New York to Maine. I founded two non-profit tech communities, and built a free Azure certification program that went worldwide in January 2018.
- Since 2008
ITProGuru
Under the name the IT Pro Guru I have published 750 to 800 technical posts over 17 years, on Windows Server, Hyper-V, Azure, PowerShell and DevOps, and since 2025 on applied AI. I co-wrote two Microsoft Press Exam Ref books on architecting Azure solutions, in 2015 and 2018.
- 2022 to today
Just In Time AI
After Microsoft I went back full time to JitSolutions, a company I owned, and it was reborn as Just In Time AI. Today I build AI and security products there, including a voice-first AI repair assistant, AI Boat Mechanic and JitSecure, and I help leaders put AI to work.
I have ADHD, and I call it my biggest superpower. Most of what I build is designed around it.
Along the way
- I have led teams and projects at dozens of Fortune 500 companies.
- I founded two non-profit technology communities in New England.
- I have taught live classes as a guest instructor at the New England Institute of Technology, Harvard and MIT.
